RCIA, The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a live and vibrant program in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. Led by our Director of Adult Formation, Sister Patricia Ste.Marie, SSMN, the RCIA program can provide answers in the following areas and much, much more:

Are you yearning for something more in your life?
Do you recognize a need for spirituality and a relationship with God?
Do you want to develop or deepen your personal relationship with Jesus within the context of a Church home in which you are offered opportunities to continue to grow spiritually and develop supportive relationships?
Are you interested in learning more about the Catholic Church?
Are you baptized Catholic or baptized into another religion but never received any formal religious education?

Are you married to a Catholic and attend Mass but just don't know what the next step is to become a member of the Catholic Church?

Are you an active Catholic who would simply like to update?

Are you an inactive Catholic with a growing desire to become active again and find out what has been happening in the Catholic Church while you were away?

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is the place for you. Every year adults are welcomed into the Catholic Community through RCIA. It is a learning and loving process and a journey in which conversion of the heart brings you into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ who is our Lord and Savior.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and find life burdensome, and I will refresh you. Take my yoke upon your shoulders and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart. Your souls will find rest, for my yoke is easy and my burden light." Matthew 11:28-30.

RCIA focuses especially on the following areas:

the Bible and its application to our daily lives,
how to develop and grow in our relationship with the Father, with Jesus, and with the Holy Spirit,
the history and development of Christianity throughout the centuries,
the Creed and doctrines of the Catholic Church,
the celebration of the Christian mystery through the sacraments,
how to live our life in Christ with one another, in the Church, and in the world,
and the prayer and community life of the Catholic Church.
